Work package
WaterProtect promotes the effective implementation of the most adequate mitigation measures specific for the Waterprotect Actionlabs and this to tackle both diffuse sources and point sources of pollution.
The measures include:
- Storage platforms for manure
- Biopurification systems wastewater coming from farmyards
- Installation of washing/cleaning places for the sprayers
- Use of drift reducing nozzles
- The use of bioremediation based on fungi for agricultural effluents in open channels (irrigation ditch type)
- Creation of vegetated buffer strips, dams and pools
- Promotion of soil conservation management strategies
